E games
We're heading down to Mayo on Friday for a follow-up. Please send some ppt that everything goes well :)
Eli with his sound switch. Right now it says "Where's Mommy?" I'm not sure he gets the concept of pushing the switch when he wants me. E found the fart noise Shawn recorded just as amusing.
And another favorite new game....

Why does the baby have to exercise?
E just doesn't get why he can't just lay on his back and watch tv all day. Most big people get to do it, lol!
Another perfect pic from this afternoons therapy. He's really not thrilled w/ the new wedge his PT brought out. He only smiled b/c Mommy made a fart noise. LOL, simple pleasures.
And check out his new stud necklace. I think he looks like a little surfer. It's an amber teething necklace made by a Mama on my diaper board.

So what's E up to?
LOL, figured I'd get the most asked question out of the way first. I know, bad blogging Mama.
Eli is doing good, well except he's sick again. Darn winter and RSV season, it always seems there are way more days that he's sick then not. It is a little easier this winter and being sick as Eli found his new love, the big flatscreen in Mommy's room. I know, I normally wouldn't endorse a 17-month old watching tv for any extended time. But, thinking of the world from Eli's perspective. He's not mobile, he can't even lift his own head to see toys. He is so hypotonic in his neck & trunk that it makes sitting in his special chair unassisted impossible. He's always working against gravity to play with toys on his back, and being just 11 lbs most toys are made for children much larger & stronger. He has very low vision and cataracts, so he can't see what is going on around him. But Eli sleeps on our bed and you turn that big television on and his head flips right over. So I say, for gosh sake, let the boy watch tv!
LOL, sorry felt the need to give my soap-box speech. It is cute now that he is getting his favorite movies. He laughs at the same part in Toy Story, which is funny b/c it's not even during a joke or intentional funny part. E thinks it's hilarious when the weeiner dog drags the toys downstairs. I think he laughs at the dog barking. Either way, it's adorable :)
Hmm, on other updates besides Eli's sick again and he loves tv.... We are keeping very busy with his therapy. We have therapy 3-4 times a week. Eli always poops out after about 15-20 min, but some week we'll be able to work up to that hour. His PT does bring out his favorite toy, Mr. Sparkle (toy he has in the pic with his chair). It's the first toy that E can actually activate himself. He looks so surprised every time it vibrates for him, but then he goes right back to it after about 5-sec. I will have to catch video of it b/c his expressions are just priceless.
And for added enjoyment, E has figured out how to chew on his feeding tube. It's this great toy that's always attached to your tummy. You just pull the long strong until you get the chewy part up to your mouth. Keep pulling until you get the red part off (this will spill all the warm slimey stuff from your tummy all over you & your hair. More bathtime then, yay!) and then chomp away. All in good fun until you get a hole in the tube from one of your three teeth. Then you let formula drain into your mouth, cough repeatably and start aspirating. Mommy says it's not such a good game for E.
And all this new blogging brings up to 4 am, so I will have to do the Halloween pics in the morning. Besides...Eli is exhausted, lol!
